"There's no way Terra would hurt anyone like that!"
Ventus stood triumphantly in front of a defeated Maleficent who kneeled weakly at her throne.
"You believe so?" Maleficent asked, "that's unfortunate. He agreed so easily."
"LIAR!" Ventus furiously sent a barrage of fireballs (Flame Salvo Shotlock) at the self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil. Maleficent quickly cast an unknown spell upon herself as the flames engulfed her. When the flames and smoke cleared, she was nowhere to be seen.
Terra would never take someone's heart, Ventus thought, I'd sooner give my own heart to darkness than to believe that.
With those thoughts, Ventus departed the now apparently deserted castle. Unknown to Ventus, as he walked out the castle gates to greet the three fairies, Maleficent watched intently from the highest tower.
"Cursed Keybearer," Maleficent angrily muttered. "Now that Aurora's heart has been recovered, my curse will surely be lifted."
For a moment, Maleficent truly felt defeated. But suddenly, Maleficent's anger and fury vanished. She recalled learning of a special "cache" to the blue fairy's softening of her curse on the princess.
True love's first kiss
An evil grin spread across Maleficent's face as she turned and continued down the spiral staircase of the tower.
True love's first kiss, she thought evilly to herself. Well, perhaps I need to make a slight alteration to my plan
"What's that?" Aqua asked herself as she looked up towards a large dark and foreboding castle.
I don't know what Terra and Ventus could possibly be doing there, Aqua thought to herself, but I guess it's worth checking.
Aqua made her way to the castle and cautiously made her way through the castle yard. It seemed abandoned but Aqua continued into the castle itself. She wandered down a dark corridor until she came to a large door. There was no handle or knob. She tried to push the door, which gradually opened itself until Aqua was able to just fit herself through the narrow opening. The room she just entered appeared to be a circular throne room with the throne seated up on a high stage to the left of the entrance and another dark corridor on the other side. Aqua examined the room, only to find it deserted as the rest of the castle seemed to be.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Aqua said quietly.
No sooner the moment those words left her mouth did the door behind her slam shut. Aqua turned around to the door in surprise, and she immediately regretted it. All around her, small creatures that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere jumped on Aqua and began struggling to subdue her.
"Hey, who in worlds are you gu-mph!"
Aqua's words were cut short as she felt one of her arms seized and one of the creatures wrapping one of its arms around her neck and one of its hands clamping over her mouth. As she felt ropes entangling her body, Aqua attempted to draw her keyblade. However, the moment it was summoned, several of the goons threw themselves at it and knocked it out of her grasp. Aqua managed to throw off the creatures, and, seeing her weapon was out of reach, attempted to call it into her only free hand. Unfortunately, just before she could, several of the creatures she threw off lunged for her legs, sending Aqua falling on the floor.
"Omph! Err, get off me, you little creeps!! Ugh!!"
Struggling to get up, Aqua felt all the creatures taking advantage as they seized her remaining arm and felt rope entangling her wrists. When Aqua finally managed to get back on her feet, her arms have been firmly tied with heavy ropes and felt more ropes being thrown and wrapped all around her. As Aqua struggled to get loose, one more creature with a large cloth jumped and grabbed onto Aqua's neck. By now, the creatures had successfully bounded Aqua and now they had to hold on to the loose ropes as to hold their captive still.
"Errgghh! Lemme go now, you little pests!!! Lemme-mppphh mmmppphh mppphhh mpphhhhhh!!!"
Again Aqua's words were cut short as the creature with the cloth suddenly wrapped it around Aqua's mouth and tied it securely. The creature then jumped down and tied one more rope around Aqua before helping the others with trying to hold her still.
Aqua continued to struggle, but eventually began to stop as she realized how futile it was. She couldn't summon her keyblade now that her hands have been completely restrained and the ropes were expertly tied and knotted so that she could hardly move her upper body at all.
When it finally seemed that Aqua has submitted to her captors, Maleficent appeared out of the shadows and walked up towards her new "guest."
"Well, what do we have here?" Maleficent said in a mocking tone. "I have been expecting you, Aqua was it?"
"Mph?" Aqua's shocked expression blatantly conveyed "How did you know my name?"
"Am I correct? Yes well, I have
been in contact with those such as yourself in recent passing. Namely, two young Key Wielders by the name of Terra and Ventus."
"Mmmppphhh!?!?" Aqua screamed and struggled, but her binds held.
"Yes." Maleficent continued. "I know all about your comrades and keyblades. Or rather
Maleficent walked over to the fallen key-like sword and picked it up. Aqua screamed and struggled even more, but again, her binds held tight.
"I would like to learn more about such as peculiar weapon. Truly magnificent. A source of power. A key that can open the hearts of men
of entire worlds, and allows one to obtain anything and everything. Such a power I find most fascinating. And such a power I used
on your friend Terra."
Aqua's eyes widened in shock. She then struggled again, while at the same time trying to shout through her gag something that sounded vaguely like "What have you done to Terra?!?!"
"Now, my dear, would you like to assist me as well?" Maleficent asked, seeming to completely disregard Aqua's question.
Aqua just glared back at Maleficent, her face contorted with anger.
"You are a most stubborn girl." Maleficent said, shaking her head. "Xehanort did say
Master Xehanort? Aqua thought. How does she know about Master Xehanort?
"It seems that you need time to consider my offer." Maleficent said firmly. "Fortunately, I have the perfect place."
Maleficent turned away towards her throne, and without a backward glance said: "To the dungeon with her."
Aqua screamed and flailed as Maleficent's goons lead her away, while the dark witch continued to examine her newly-acquired prize.
Maleficent's goons have brought her down to a small and dark dungeon that was empty except for one other prisoner. He was a handsome young man in a tan tunic over a black shirt with brown pants, and a red cape of sort lay out behind him. He had shackles on his wrist with a long chain connecting them to the wall. Aqua had been untied and had her gag removed, but she was now seated on a cold dungeon block with her arms were chained overhead so that she still had no range of movement for her arms.
Aqua and the young man stared inquisitively at each other, but after it seemed that Maleficent's goons have left, the young man broke the silence.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"My name is Aqua." She replied. "It looks like I was caught in a trap."
"So was I." The young man said. "I was to meet the most beautiful girl in the glen, but it turned out to be a trap by that fiendish fairy Maleficent. I recall her saying something about having to have failed to keep my beloved's heart from a young knight that saved her heart with, of all things, a weapon that appeared to be a key."
Aqua's own heart seemed to jump at the young man's words.
"That knight." She asked hastily. "Who was he? Did you see him?"
"I'm sorry, but I have not." He replied. "But now, my true love now lies in eternal slumber, and only I can break the spell."
"Wow, you must really love her." Aqua said smiling.
"Is what you said is true?" A voice behind Aqua asked. She turned to see three fairies dressed in red, blue, and green.
"Yes, Maleficent told me." The young man answered.
When they realized who he was, the fairies determined expression changed into joyous ones.
"Oh Prince Phillip! It's you!"
Prince Phillip and Aqua massaged their now free wrists as Flora explains to Phillip, "Now the road to true love may be barred by many dangers which you alone will have to face."
Upon hearing this, Aqua held out her arm forward and summoned her keyblade.
"No." She said defiantly. "I'm going with you. There are some things I need to know. And Maleficent is the only one who can answer them."
Maleficent growled in fury as the keyblade disappeared from her grip in a flash of light.
"It seems I may have underestimated the foolish child." She declared as she rose from her throne. "And the prince... I'll just have to deal with them myself..."
